New Global LTE Network Available for iPad SIM
In an effort to improve the performance of their network, a new network has just been launched for the latest generation of 3G/LTE iPad users. The AlwaysOnline Wireless Network by Canadian company Otono Networks has begun offering pay as you go plans across their now expansive network, covering 45 countries.
The SIM card in the latest generation of 3G/LTE iPads was designed with international travelers in mind, with the capabilities to keep them connected over various international networks as they cross borders on business trips. Several other companies have already partnered with Apple in the project, and Otono joins them in pulling together a network for traveling iPad users.
Though the new AlwaysOnline network is going to enhance coverage in areas where it already existed, it’s also bringing new pockets to the territory, with coverage now available in places like South Korea, Russia, and Saudi Arabia, among others.
The network expands to countries all over the world, and specializes in offering short term plan options for users whose circumstances are likely to change with travel plans. Users can select from brief plans with small data limits, or choose from a more unlimited plan with a roaming carrier like AT&T. All of this can be done from directly within the iOS Settings app.
Plans with AlwaysOnline start at 99 cents an hour, and go up from there based on duration and data limitations.
